It started out as just as an illustration of a cyberpunk woman with a gun, and it kinda evolved into this series of characters that would probably fit in the the same universe. I also experimented again with ink splatters which I’m going to try to integrate back into my work.

I took to naming them all after artistic movements just for fun.

I’m working on my first Twine game (a software that lets you make your own online Choose-Your-Own-Adventure games) right now, and I finalized the look of my protagonist psychic detective you play as: Anne Iver. The game’s called “L U S H” and its got criminals, fictional drugs, psychics, and all sorts of other dark Sci-Fi goodness.

In an attempt to quell the bad publicity generated by certain E3 announcements, Microsoft has announced a second round of features for the Xbox One, starting with its controller.

Most technologically advanced of these features are the biometrics. Both thumbsticks feature fingerprint readers that can instantly recognize the player. This will not only allow users to sign in with a simple touch, but for the system to deny access to unregistered players who haven’t paid the guest charge.

Pretty high tech stuff, but not the centerpiece of the new controller when it comes to functionality. The “Impulse Trigger” rumble motors will provide a new level of depth to gameplay. While the concept of a rumble pack goes all the way back to StarFox 64, the new Impulse system goes farther than any system to date to become one with the player. The trigger buttons both feature several tiny needles that (painlessly) penetrate the player’s fingers to deliver intense (painful) electrical shocks, while simultaneously sampling DNA and minor changes in blood chemistry that will let the game change to better fit the mood and, says Microsoft, even the ethnicity of the player.

“We at Microsoft feel that the best Xbox games should be reserved only for the Aryan race,” said spokesman Francis Sham, “As most games will prove too demanding for degenerate bloodlines or “Mudbloods” as we call them, the controller will deny them access to most of our early releases. We still intend to cater to these audiences of course, and will be releasing games designed for them down the road that have been simplified for their inferior minds.

Though this biometric system will be included in all Xbox One controllers, the modifications will prove costly so all previously ordered consoles will be shipped without any controllers, which will be sold separately for $299 each. The consoles won’t work without them and Microsoft is only manufacturing 700 in time for the release, so order yours today!

I’M SORRY BUT THIS REALLY PISSED ME OFF AND I NEEDED TO VENT.

So I liked this page last year for the shits and gigs, as you do. I found it funny, and let slide the few sexist posts.

Only recently- and after I got a tumblr- did I really start to notice the abundance of rape, sexist and racist jokes appearing on my news feed. And it pissed me off.

I said nothing, however, because what could I do? Send in a message to the page and get labelled a whore and a slut by the Admins as I’ve seen so many people do?

Then this motherfucking gem popped up.

I usually don’t get involved in these sorts of things; if I do my comment gets lost more often than not and goes unnoticed. But I had to comment, I really had to.

I thought my argument was valid and whole, and I was actually rather happy when he admin directly replied to my comment.

I narrowed down my five favourite games ever and posted them.

Of course, I got beaten and labeled down once again.

When I asked for a rational clarification of his definitions of “casual” and “core” he did not reply. It was only when I directly insinuated the bias of his claim did I get a response.

“A feminist I see. No arguments need to be made. Good luck with getting them eggs fertilized”

Note the use of “feminist” as an insult.

I have had my fair share of gender specific hate regarding gaming. I get told I am a fake and a bitch if I get a high score; I get told to “suck a dick because you are better at that, bitch” if I get a low score; I get told to “get back in the kitchen, slut” without any prompt at all, simply because I have a vagina.

I am beyond sick of this. I hate the fact that if a male who hypothetically plays a few hours of CoD can be easily called a gamer by the wider community but I if were to say that I was a level 34 on Skyrim I would immediately be called a fake geek girl, a casual gamer and a liar.

I hate the fact that, even though 45% of gaming consumers are female, developers and publishers still believe that there is not a large enough demographic for female protagonists.

I hate the fact that most women in video games are no more than sexulised objects in skimpy clothing.

I hate the fact that I cannot enjoy a game without being labeled and branded because of the fact that I posses a vagina and not a penis.

I don’t think many men realize just how insulting this can be, and how bigoted they’re being about women and video games.

First of all, nowhere does it say in the laws of video gaming that video games are a “guy” thing. True, there are very many games out there that are aimed towards guys, but by no means is it written anywhere that girls cannot enjoy them too.

Second of all, don’t guys get annoyed when their girlfriends want them to put down the X-Box controller and talk to them? Oh, but God forbid if that bitch dared to pick up the second controller and offered to join him in owning some noobs. That is clearly crossing the line, and she needs to learn her place right away and go back to her tea set.

I don’t ask for much. I just want some guys who share the mindset of this “Badass Ed” to realize that not all women claim they are gamers because they want boys to like them. Some of us actually enjoy video games, no matter what kind of video games they may be. My opinion is that if you spend more than 24 hours a week playing video games, you’re probably a gamer. The important thing is actually enjoying them, of course, and I just can’t see how some guys believe that every single girl who claims to like video games is only putting up a front to get some action. You love what you love, and you shouldn’t have to take shit for it.

I wish gaming culture was better than this. Cheesuz.
